About festival
ANIMUR is the easternmost animation festival in Russia— a meeting place and platform for dialogue between audiences, creators, experts, and representatives of the animation industry from Russia, the Asia-Pacific region, and Southeast Asia. It serves as a space for exchanging experience, a source of inspiration, and a celebration of the art of animation.
In 2024, the festival became the largest animation festival in Russia by number of submissions, receiving 2,300 entries from 102 countries worldwide, in 2026 this record has been broken, receiving 2,970 entries from 111 countries worldwide.
Our mission
Our mission is to shape a new and unique creative direction formed at the intersection of the traditions of the Russian animation school and cultural connections with Asian countries. We not only discover new talents, but also inspire audiences, broaden their perception of animation as an art form, cultivate a mature viewing culture, position animation as a dynamic contemporary art form, and provide creators with opportunities for self-expression and finding their audience.

Description: Two feuding classmates — the young and reckless conspiracy theorist Danil and the popular and handsome captain of the hockey team, Sergey — face mystical phenomena and conspiracies in the small town of Amurgrad in the Far East. The boys must join forces to fight the evil forces and save their friends, the school, and the town, and uncover the villains behind it all. But they don’t know that the mystery they’re about to face extends far beyond their small town. In a remote town, two rival classmates — conspiracy-obsessed Danil and hockey captain Sergei — uncover a reptilian conspiracy hidden beneath a wave of supernatural events. As ancient O forces awaken, the boys are forced to put aside their hatred and fight an evil far greater than either of them could have imagined.

Description: Four children discover the world of myths with the help of a wise grandmother who serves as their Guardian. They soon realize that their home and the environment are in grave danger due to pollution. Because of their unique connection to the mythical realm, they are the only ones who can receive distress signals from legendary creatures. Using magic, the heroes can teleport to various locations across the Russian Far East. To balance the magic, a young scientist character introduces a grounded, scientific perspective—defining phenomena and explaining events with hard facts. Each episode tackles an ecological issue through an encounter with a specific regional myth, where the children must either rescue a mythical creature or defeat a villain. In the finale, the heroes overcome their personal struggles, learn the value of teamwork, clean up their city and nature, and earn well-deserved recognition.
Description: A series of five original short films. The project began in 2024 and brought together young authors, experienced directors, research institutions, and animation studios from the Khabarovsk Krai. Over the course of five years, a team from Khabarovsk and Komsomolsk-on-Amur compiled a collection of short films and their relationships into "5 Stories About Time": "The Big Bang", "Gulf Stream", "Zavtra, "Black Hole", "Ne tyan'i".

Description: "Back to Back" is the first animated series created in the Russian Far East. It was created by the Khabarovsk-based animation studio "Mechtalet." The series follows backpack friends who live without their owners and rule the world. Just leave the backpack friends — Ryuk, Botya and Moli — alone without supervision, and they return to another successful adventure.

Description: Platypus Tuk is an insecure, awkward teenager just entering adolescence. He tries to figure himself out and faces seemingly unsolvable problems that no one has ever encountered before him! But in his darkest hour, he receives a message from his long-lost Grandpa, which becomes a beacon of hope and a chance to solve all his problems at once. All he has to do is set off for the mysterious island of Animix!
Tuk embarks on a journey full of hope and ends up on a strange island of mixed animals. Every clue about Grandpa that Tuk finds suggests that his Grandpa was a brilliant scientist who was working on something sinister on the island — and it seems that all the mixed animals and the island itself are his doing! However, no one remembers anything about him, and many of the mixed animals behave very strangely. So Tuk must not only find his Grandpa but also help the inhabitants of Animix deal with the consequences of the experiments. Because only then will he be able to understand who he really is.

"Green Stone Eaters" Animation Studio specializes in creating animated content for teenagers. The studio’s main project is the animated series "Abduction" (intended for audiences aged 12 and above). Targeted at young viewers, the series combines modern storytelling with a distinctive visual style, aiming to create original animated works that are both engaging and recognizable.
The organization is the founder of the Animur International Animation Film Festival, educational and industry programs, and a co-organizer of the animation cluster and the international cooperation platform between Russia and ASEAN countries in the fields of animation and creative

“Rokoteska” Studio is an author of “Thrash Patrol” universe, including plush animals, fairytales, games and cartoon TV series “Thrash Patrol”(6+). Unique visuals, worm, tactile, friendship, empathy, music, humour, great for all ages.
Bulaev Group is the first publishing house in the Russian Far East to create its own fantasy universes, brought to life through books, comic books, board games, and animation. Our team actively collaborates with regional business support institutions and is eligible for social enterprise status.
The agency’s flagship projects include: • The House of Communes, a horror comic book by Sergey Yakovlev; • Trash Patrol, an animated universe based on books and handmade plush toys created by Katerina Tomina and the Rokoteska Studio.
In addition, the publishing house fulfills commercial orders for the production and supply of souvenirs and stationery. The company also operates its own bookstore and creative space, Kot i Molot (The Cat and the Hammer), located in Khabarovsk.

The name isn't accidental, and the image behind it is something magical, something woven from childhood dreams and a strong will, a dream that, against all odds, came true. Since 2018, the team aboard "Mechtalet" has been traveling the world of animation, continuing to gain altitude.
