Родился 5 апреля 1987 года в Воронеже. В кинематографе изначально работал в области монтажа, затем стереографии.
Первым выдающимся проектом Алексея был полнометражный анимационный фильм «Снежная Королева» (2012), где он выступил в качестве монтажёра, оператора, руководителя отдела лэйаута и одного из сценаристов.
В 2014 году состоялся режиссёрский дебют Цицилина – его фильм «Снежная Королева 2: Перезаморозка» обрёл огромный успех как в прокате, так и в профессиональном сообществе. Также проект стал первым русским анимационным фильмом, номинированным на кинопремию «Золотой Глобус».
Второй режиссёрской работой Алексея стал мультфильм «Снежная Королева 3: Огонь и Лёд». На момент выхода третья часть франшизы стала самой кассовой российской картиной за всю историю проката в Китае! А четвёртая – «Снежная Королева: Зазеркалье» – полюбилась зрителям более чем 80 стран мира. Релиз анимационного фильма «Ганзель, Гретель и Агентство Магии» (2021), над которым Алексей работал как режиссёр и соавтор сценария состоялся 18 марта 2021 года, а 26 марта вышел на платформе Netflix и попал в топ просмотров во всем мире в первую неделю релиза.
Алексей Цицилин работал над сериальным спин-оффом кинофраншизы «Снежная Королева: Хранители Чудес». В производстве студии мультсериалы «Рюкзачок» (2022), «Огнеботы Тина» (2022), а также полнометражный мультфильм «Руслан и Людмила» (2022) – проекты, в которых Алексей выступает в качестве сценариста.

Film summary: Gretel is one of the best agents of the top secret Department of Magical Security. It is her who is assigned to investigate the crime of the century, the mysterious disappearance of the King. An already difficult case becomes more complicated by the fact that her brother Hansel becomes her partner — a well-known fraudster who casts a shadow on the impeccable reputation of a super agent. But perhaps it is his tricks that will help find the King and save the Kingdom. Together they will have to penetrate the terrible secrets of the magical world, fight the forces of evil and challenge a powerful Witch.

Director's biography: Alexey Tsitsilin was born on April 5, 1987 in Voronezh. In cinematography, he initially worked in the field of editing, then stereography.
Alexey's first outstanding project was the full-length animated film "The Snow Queen" (2012), where he acted as an editor, cameraman, head of the layout department and one of the screenwriters.
In 2014, Tsitsilin made his directorial debut – his film "The Snow Queen 2: Re-Freezing" had a huge success both among the audience and in the professional community. The project also became the first Russian animated film nominated for the Golden Globe Film Award.
Alexey's second directorial work was the cartoon "The Snow Queen 3: Fire and Ice". At the time of release, the third part of the franchise became the highest-grossing Russian film in the history of rental in China. And the fourth part "The Snow Queen: Through the Looking Glass" was loved by viewers from more than 80 countries of the world. The release of the animated film "Hansel, Gretel and the Agency of Magic" (2021), on which Alexey worked as a director and co-author of the script, took place on March 18, 2021, and was released on March 26 on the Netflix platform and hit the top views worldwide in the first week of release.
Alexey Tsitsilin worked on the serial spin-off of the film franchise "The Snow Queen: Guardians of Miracles". The studio is producing the animated series "Backpack" (2022), "Tina's Firebots" (2022), as well as the full–length cartoon "Ruslan and Lyudmila" (2022) - projects in which Alexey acts as a screenwriter. 1.
